How effective is your Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program Reporting?

As the saying goes "What gets measured gets done".

With compulsory reporting requirements beginning to appear in our legislation WIKS has developed a simple to use reporting module to assist your organisation not only comply but also to effectively manage your Drug and Alcohol Free Workplace Program.

What Legislative Reporting Requirements?

The Aviation Industry has recently implemented legislation (click the  Aviation Industry link for more information) that requires reporting to CASA every 6 months with the first reporting period ending 1 September, 2009 with the report to be submitted by 21st September, 2009.

The Independent Transport Safety and Reliability Regulator (ITSRR) have implemented quarterly reporting for the Rail Industry in NSW with the first reporting period ending 31st March, 2009 with the report to be submitted by the end of the following month.

Even if you are not bound by legislative reporting requirements it makes sense to measure the effectiveness of your Drug and Alcohol Program to identify whether your current training and testing regime is effective?

What's in the module and why?

The components of the reporting module are:

  •  View/Add Testing Officer and their certificates
All testing officers completing urine and saliva drug testing are required to complete nationally recognised training as a minimum and testing officers completing alcohol testing must be trained and competent to undertake alcohol testing.

  •  View/Add Employees/Donors
This area ensures the sufficient identification is obtained for each employee/donor and also provides a record of awareness training completed as well as a list of all tests this donor has completed to assist with target testing where required.
  •  View/Add Awareness Training
Awareness training forms an important part of any Drug and Alcohol Management Program and the WIKS reporting module provides the ability to record and upload  awareness training records.
    •  View/Add Laboratories for confirmatory testing
Whether you send your non negative tests to one laboratory or multiple the status of the tests and results are recorded against the laboratory for easy reference and effective management.
    •  View/Enter Drug and Alcohol Testing

This section is used to record the results of your drug and or alcohol tests. It has provision for both preliminary and confirmatory testing. Most of the information in this section comes from the information in the drug test record book.

  •  Manage Preliminary Non Negative Results

This report shows a list of preliminary non negative drug tests that have been sent to your chosen lab for confirmation where the results have not yet been returned.Once the results have been forwarded simply click the link and add the laboratory results.

  •  View/Add Reports

Simply add the report dates and the number of staff during the period and then view the report with all of you drug and alcohol management plan data complied into one simple report. Additional variation available for CASA (Aviation Industry) reporting and links provided for ITSRR (Rail Industry) reporting.

So Why use WIKS Reporting Module

It ensures that your testing officers hold the appropriate skills and qualifications to conduct testing.
